Shaadi Bazaar(“we”, “us”) runs the marketplace at https://shaadibazaar.app. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to be transparent and reasonable; if anything is unclear, email us.
1. Information we collect
When you submit a form on the site — an inquiry, a vendor application, a newsletter sign-up, or the “email me this comparison” helper — we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (when you provide it)
- Event details (date, guest count, budget, message)
- Business information (only for vendor applications)
While you browse, we also collect:
- Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps)
- Locally — in your browser’s storage — your shortlist of saved vendors
We don’t require you to create an account to browse. Most of your interaction with the site is anonymous.
2. How we use it
- Inquiry forwarding: when you submit an inquiry, we forward your details to the vendor(s) you contacted so they can reply.
- Confirmation emails: we send you a confirmation when you submit a form so you have a record.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe, we send occasional planning ideas and editorial features — never more than a couple a month.
- Service operation: server logs help us debug, monitor, and protect against abuse.
- Aggregate analytics: we may look at usage patterns in aggregate to improve the product. We don’t link this back to individuals.
We do not sell your information.
3. Who we share with
- Vendors you contact: when you submit an inquiry to a vendor, that vendor receives your contact details and message.
- Service providers: we use Resend for email delivery, Supabase for database and file storage, and our hosting provider for serving the site. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy commitments.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by applicable UAE law or a valid legal process.
4. Where your data lives
Our application data is stored in Supabase (a managed Postgres service). Email delivery is handled by Resend. These providers may store data in regions outside the UAE. By using the site, you consent to this transfer.
5. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Delete your data (where we’re not required to retain it for legal or contractual reasons)
- Stop sending you marketing emails (you can also unsubscribe directly from any newsletter we send)

6. Saved vendors (“shortlist”)
Your saved vendors are stored in your account on our servers — not in your browser. You need to be signed in to save vendors. You can remove individual vendors or clear your entire list at any time from the shortlist drawer or your saved vendors dashboard.
7. Cookies and tracking
We use browser localStorageto remember which vendor profiles you’ve recently viewed, so we don’t count repeat visits within 24 hours. We also use PostHog, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how the site is used in aggregate. PostHog is configured to only create user profiles for signed-in accounts, not anonymous visitors.
8. Children’s privacy
The site is intended for adults planning weddings. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from people under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. For material changes, we’ll also email subscribers and post a banner on the site.
